Black and Gold Chocolate Dream

Everytime I make a cake I learn something new or realise a different way of doing things.

When you want to achieve dark colours in a cake, ganache is always easier to darken compared to buttercream.

However this cake is covered in buttercream and I used my airbrush to cover it in black. Both ways work but the ganache is much easier.

I used a paintbrush to flick gold all over the cake and the chocolate drip is handprinted in edible gold paint also.

To decorate I used Oreos, kit-kats, ferro rocher and dark chocolate malteasers.
